Australian Visitor Visa Subclass 600 Document Checklist
- Online Application Form (each applicant, including children, must complete their own form)
- Certified copy of your passport
- Certified copy of your birth certificate
- Proof of name change (if relevant)
- Two recent passport-sized photographs (45 mm x 35 mm) of each person included in the application.

- Evidence of how you will fund your travel (for example, bank statements, taxation documents)
- If you are employed: Letter from your employer – stating your position and salary, length of employment, confirming your leave of absence and the name and contact details of the person providing the letter.
- If you are self-employed: Business registration
- If you are retired: Evidence of your retirement – for example a letter from your employer.
- If you are a student: Evidence of your enrolment such as letter from your education institute.
- Proof that you will return home before your visa expires, for example:
- a letter from your employer stating you plan to return to your job
- proof that you study at a school, college or university in your home country
- proof that you have immediate family members in your home country
- proof that you can return home
- proof that you own a house or other major assets in your home country
- National Identification Card (if relevant)
- Military service record or discharge papers (if relevant)
If you are visiting family or friends
- If you are visiting family and friends provide an invitation from your inviter in Australia, evidence of your relationship with the inviter and evidence of your inviter’s passport.
- If someone is supporting your application, a supporting letter from this person outlining the purpose of your visit, the length of your stay, the nature of your relationship with them, and the type of support they will provide (eg. financial, accommodation etc). - If visiting or travelling with a relative – evidence of your relationship with the person you are visiting, for example, marriage certificate(s), birth certificate(s), house registration, statement detailing the relationship, or a combination of these documents.
- If a friend/relative in Australia is paying for your visit then a Statutory Declaration form for your Visitor Visa Australia, stating the relative or friend’s support and evidence of their financial capacity to do so – for example a letter of invitation, bank statements and tax documents.
