What is a substantive visa?
A substantive visa is any visa that is not a bridging visa. This is not significant for the vast majority of visitors to Australia – however, it may become relevant if you wish to apply for another visa while you are in Australia.
There are three types of tourist visas:
- eVisitor (Subclass 651)
- Electronic Travel Authority (Subclass 601)
- Visitor Visa (Subclass 600)
